When Bob the Builder Gets Married

So, with Jason not working and me on maternity leave we are getting to spend a lot of time together.  I'm not sure what he would tell you, but I'm having a blast having him around.  (I think it's because I don't have any deadlines or commitments, so I'm letting myself enjoy his company rather than get annoyed that he's keeping me from doing what I want.)  (It's also good because if he wasn't here, I'm pretty sure all this time off would be pretty darn unbearable.)

So, we're together probably 85% of the time, if not more.  (As we stress about finding him a job, I keep telling myself, some day when he has a great job we'll look back on this time and miss all the fun we had together.)  And I'm finding there are some serious advantages to a scrapbooker being married to a construction man, and some disadvantages too.  (Yes, they are innately different in that his is more of a career and mine is a hobby, but still, both seriously affect the way we do a lot of things.)

Advantages:
1.  I can eyeball pretty accurately any measurement under 12".  Once we get into feet, or even stories, Jason is dead on.  (It's almost kind of creepy.)
2.  He can fix anything.  I can cover any mistake.
3. We understand the "need" to accumulate all sorts of tools and accessories for your hobby/career. (However, I'm pretty sure neither of us has any idea of just how much stuff the other one has, and that is intentional.)
4. Friends and family like to take advantage of your skills and tools.

Disadvantages:
1. Uh, we both need a LOT of space for all that hobby/career junk!
2. His tools take up a lot more space than my scrapbook stuff does.  I don't think we could ever live without a garage again.
3. Both hobby/career can get expensive.
4. Friends and family like to take advantage of your skills and tools.
