So last Friday in school we were talking about the different types of government. I told them the definition of a government "a body inside an organization that makes and enforces the laws." Then we talked about the different "governments" in their life.
"What's the government at school?"
"The principal."
"What's the government in this classroom?"
"You."
"What's the government at home?"
"Me!"
"Really? You make and enforce the rules?"
"Actually, Mom makes the rules and Dad enforces them."
I totally smiled. Then I thought about it- is that how Jason and I will be? Probably. Even now with the dogs. However, he'll probably make the rules and enforce them and I'll fight him on them. Then I thought- is that how my parents were? Nope. My mom made the rules, and she enforced them too. But don't think my dad did nothing. If Dad got mad about something you did, you'd hope and pray that Mom would make the punishment. No worries though, it took A LOT to make Dad mad.
