Big One Birthday

This week, Johnny will have been a year for a month.  So, obviously the time has flown by and I haven't done anything to tell any of you about it!

Celebration:  We had a family party on his birthday.  He wasn't sure what to think of all the people, but loved feeding himself his own mashed potatoes.  (We had mashed potatoes sundaes and barbeque.)

Cake:  I tried a healthy cake for Johnny.  He wanted NOTHING to do with it and then devoured the cupcake I decided to try with him.  (His banner says Big One, but as he kicked it, it was harder to read.)

Gifts:  He got lots of clothes, some toys and other fun stuff.

Don't mind the rotated pictures, I just didn't want to fix them in PSE to then have to reload them in Blogger.

About Johnny-
  • He weighs almost 30 lbs, he's almost 34 inches tall, he wears size 24 months clothes and size 5 diapers.  (Basically he is the size of a 2 year old.)  He has 8 teeth with two more (we are thinking) coming in right now.
  • He isn't walking yet and Mommy isn't complaining.  He can lift himself up on anything and walk along it, but isn't showing any moves to venture out on his own.  He will "let go" to clap, but it's more about the clapping then and not balancing.
  • He is still a great sleeper and loves his 6:30 bedtime.
  • He loves cheese, milk (Mommy no longer pumps, just nurses in the morning at at night- yippee!), and will eat most other things too.
  • He loves people, preferably females, but will really smile at anyone.
  • He loves to hear the sounds he can make.  He has mastered "ball" and we're pretty sure we have down milk "mil" and Daddy "da" too.  But we have to keep checking that's correct.  :)
  • He is the happiest, friendliest baby ever and we are so grateful to have him in our family!
Happy Birthday, Johnny!

Happy Birthday!!!
Those 1st birthdays are the ones you never forget. Maybe it's because of all the milestones that have been reached. Enjoy!

Happy Birthday! He is one big boy! My sister's second is big like that. He's not even two and he's been wearing 3T size stuff for like 3 months. Linebacker anyone? LOL! Congrats on making it through the first year, Mama! Good luck with the twos! (though I'd venture an opinion and say the 4s are a lot harder...)
