Love List 3: Three Loving Women Who Helped Me Through Everything

Okay, so lots of women did a lot of little things to help me out and I'm sure everyone I know prayed for me, but without these three I know I wouldn't have been able to make it through.

1. Shandel- She's my 7th grade counterpart. I called her 10:30 Monday night to say I might not be at school the next day and when I finally confirmed a few hours later she proceeded to take care of everything. The entire three weeks I was gone from school she did everything for me, plus all of her stuff! She wrote my lesson plans (in a curriculum she doesn't teach), she threatened my children as needed, she found me a sub, she did it ALL. If not for her, I would have just told the sub to make them run the track. I was so not worried about school that I didn't care what they were doing.

2. Aunt Nancy- She's my calming, older sibling figure. She always helps me to put everything in perspective and relax. Plus she understands all the intricacies of coming from Curtis genetics (hehe).

3. Valerie- Val and I have known each other since she moved to my ward three years ago, we even served together with the Beehives, she was my visiting teacher for 2 years and still, we never became friends until this. I think the Lord was either trying to make us be friends, but we weren't listening, or he was preparing us so we could be friends when we needed it. She lives across the street and will drop anything and come over when I need her. When I first send out my email needing friends to visit me she responded first (remember, we weren't really friends then yet) and said she'd come over tomorrow. (I thought to myself, she's crazy! I meant next week! But I was still in shock and just went with it, it turned out to be a great decision, I think she came over 3 times that weekend.) So, she was great because she's so unselfish and loving and as a result, I decided that Heavenly Father knew what he was doing when He put her in my life.

We SO should've become friends sooner! I see your point though...maybe it was all about timing...weird the way things happen sometimes. I sure was missing out on a great friendship though...glad I got my act together! :)
