It was early this morning that I realized our first three hour church trip coincided with May Day. Normally, May Day is a celebration of spring and what not, but the phrase May Day is also used as a distress signal and that's the coincidence I'm talking about.
Our first trip for sacrament only was pretty uneventful, apparently that was a fluke. Or merely, an experience to make us complacent, because yesterday, by the time sacrament meeting was over- he'd had two diaper changes and peed on Daddy's shirt and tie. And we still had two thirds left! I had to teach in primary, so I nursed briefly at the end of sacrament meeting, while Jason was home changing, to try to buy a nap out of the little guy. During the second block, he refused the bottle we'd brought, thus forcing me to abandon my class during sharing time so I could, yet again, nurse him and change two more diapers.
If that doesn't all scream MAY DAY, I don't know what does?!?
However, it wasn't a complete loss. I met more ladies in the mother's lounge yesterday than I have so far this year! And talk about relaxing. Rocking, listening to sacrament meeting, nursing. Way more engaging than the typical sit through testimonies.
What have we learned from this experience? Uhm, bring lots of diapers and have no expectations for the block!
This photo has nothing to do with yesterday, except that I'm sure he was laughing inside seeing us running around with him at church. Plus, I've been told I must include photos with each post. :-)

He sure is cute! Loving all these posts - isn't parenthood great?
Katie..
For my first Mother's Day, I had bought a new dress. During the service, Mark pooped all over it. As I leaned over to grab something to wipe up the poop, all of the seams in the dress literally fell apart. My dress fell off me in pieces. It was princess seamed. The lady sitting next to me, grabbed a blanket and threw it around my shoulders as I tried to get out of the pew. Here I was trying to hold my baby, diaper bag, blanket, and the remains of my dress, when a bee stung me on my nose. Yep, I was one bawling mother. Where was Dick....working as a police officer. I understand the learning curve of a new mom. Smile...it is all worth it.
