Colette and I had this great plan a few months ago for me to drive up to visit her right before Christmas. Well, a few things happened since then that affected the trip.
1- Angie and Mindy decided to come. No problem- the more the merrier for a scrapbooking weekend.
2- We realized that with a scrapbooking weekend we would need to take the truck. There is no way all of our luggage and scrapbook stuff would fit in my Honda.
3- Jason still didn't have a job. What a great person to drive for us! I hate driving anyway, and I certainly hate driving 12 hours one way to make it somewhere.
4- My sister Tracy moved to Texas and was going to be back in town while we were still in CA.
So as the time drew closer, we made some plans. We would leave on Friday the 19th as soon as Angie could leave (about 1:00). We would drive straight through to Discovery Bay (about 1 hour east of San Francisco). We would take the truck, Jason would drive, Angie and I would rotate front and back seat to stretch out our legs. We would come home on the 23rd and drive straight through (instead of halfway and then the rest on 24th, so that we could have more time with Tracy). Basically, once it was all said and done it came out to a LONG and COZY road trip. I found out that I can last about 10 hours in a road trip and then I'm done. Mindy, Angie and Jason were great troopers though. Jason drove the entire trip. YIPPEE!!
We had a blast at Colette's. She was a wonderful hostess. We got a ton of scrapbooking done and had fun in Berkeley on Sunday. It was great to be back in the Bay Area again. I did get a bit reminiscent of my time up there... such great memories.

Sounds like a fun trip! I remember fondly the trip we took with our dads to ASU vs. Stanford game. What a great time we had and a wonderful memory with our dads. So lucky that Jason drove!
I don't know why it took me so long to find your blog but I am so excited I did. Now I can keep up on what's going on in your life!
