This is a common response while diaper changes. I now like to wait after feeding to change them because he's calmer and more cooperative.
This is him and dad waiting for mommy to leave the hospital. He'd just met his pacifier and was rather happy with it.
All ready to leave the hospital and head home.
Johnathon's Report Card:- Age: 1 week old
- Feeding: C He started out stellarly and then we came home from the hospital. But he improves every day and we have to "wrestle" less and less each time so he'll eat.
- Sleeping: A+++
- Cuddling: A+++ We have yet to meet anyone who won't or doesn't want to cuddle with him
- Firsts: Trip to the pediatrician, walk, diaper change, nap in the bassinet, pacifier
Mommy & Daddy's Report Card:
- Daddyisms: On meconium, "They should use the stuff in this diaper to patch roofs." On baby brushes, "I understand why the bristles are so small, but why is the handle so small? It's not like the baby is going to start brushing his hair." On being a dad, "I was a bit worried about this being a dad thing, but I have to admit that carrying around someone who looks like you is pretty cool."
- Mommy's Favorites: I love his face right after he's nursed, utter contentment! And I LOVE the way he smells.
- Tools of the Trade: We could not have survived this week without our portable changing station (it has saved our bed from quite a few "unfinished" diaper changes), swaddling blanket (I call him my little burrito) and lots and lots of diapers!

Look at that adorable child! You look so good! Grace had an extra sensitive "drop reflex" (that's what they called that startled-when-not-swaddled-state) so I had to make sure she was swaddled on the top half of her body when I changed her diaper. :)
Super job. A to both of you. Enjoy every minute. This time will pass quickly.
