Week 5, 6 & 7: Treading Water

So I haven't been too good about letting you know how maternity leave is going, well, let me tell you there isn't too much to talk about.  People ask me, "What are you doing this week?"  I can tell them when my OB appointment is for the week, but otherwise I'm usually wide open.  I do have a standing weekly movie date with my sister and a standing weekly scrapbooking date with a friend and then the schedule stops.  I know, glamorous, huh?

Last week, though, I learned some valuable things I'd like to share.

1.  I have no problems keeping myself busy- I'm a hobbyist!  I still have a list of projects that could keep me busy for months.  However, without my husband around (he worked last week- YIPPEE!!!), I went crazy!  I started talking to the dog!  So, him not working for most of my maternity leave, in a crazy way, has been a blessing.  I bet if he'd been working, I probably would have lasted one week and then begged to go back to my job for some human interaction!
2.  The closer it gets to my due date, the more phantom pregnancy pains I experience.  Heartburn has been taken to a new level.  Side pains, chest pains, you name it- it has shown up, mostly while I'm sleeping, of course.  And the swollen feet, ugh!
3.  Too much on my mind, I had to resort to some Sophie Kinsella.
4.  I'm antsy for this little guy to get here!  I'm ready to move on to the next phase- I think I've mastered the pregnancy part of this gig!
5.  I think my husband is nesting...don't tell him though, he would definitely rebel.  :-)

Report Card:
  • Exhaustion level- low
  • Rest level- high
  • Accomplishment level- medium (everything left to do isn't too pressing, so I'm just taking it easy)
  • Baby- BIG!- he hates when I cross my arms, the hiccups have calmed down, and sometimes I think he's trying to break free through my abdomen
