Everything I need to know, I learned from my newborn

A few nights ago, as I was nursing Johnathon for his right-before-bed-feeding (I'm most alert for that one), I was thinking about how my priorities and perspectives have changed in just the few weeks that he's been here with us.  I thought about how he's taught me some things without even saying a word.

  1. Sleep is highly underrated.
  2. All you really need is some nourishment and sleep.
  3. Cuddling makes life bearable.
  4. Sometimes you just have to block out distractions (ex. use a sound machine).
  5. Deadlines/shmeadlines. Appointments/smpointments.  Time should be irrelevant.
  6. Everyone is happier once they've eaten some good food.
  7. If someone won't listen to you- make them listen!
  8. Your mom knows everything you need.
  9. Dads are the fun ones.
  10. Life is better as a grandparent.
  11. Let others help you.  You can't do everythign on your own.
  12. Life changes quickly, enjoy it while you can.
  13. Sometimes all you need is a good cry!
  14. Take time to enjoy and saver what's really important.
