Family Report Card #2

Basically, he is best at sleeping.  And I think I could watch him sleep forever.  He loves blankets and dad ROCKS at swaddling that boy up in just about anything.  The represented swaddle here was done by mom- swaddling is not my thing.
The office ladies at the cardiologist loved him and asked to take this picture.  They even offered to keep him around for a few hours too.  The lady in the background was his cardiologist.  He was a super trooper with getting his blood pressure checked 4 times, having a echo done and having about 15 minutes of ultrasounds done too.  Turns out he has a moderate sized VSD they will be watching to see if, hopefully it will heal itself (they usually do).
After that first bath, he was not a fan.  We're still trying to work it it out with him.
He has the sprawling down too!

Johnathon's Report Card:
  • Age: 2 weeks old
  • Size: 9 lbs, 23 inches long 98th percentile
  • Firsts: bath, trip to Target
  • Highlights: trip to the cardiologist, photo shoot with Aunt Tracy, introduction to Toby
  • Struggles: diapers leaking- we hear it's a boy thing
  • All in all though, he is pretty agreeable and easy going.

Mommy & Daddy's Report Card:
  • Daddyisms: Jason is a sworn non-singer, however, he will sing to Johnathon.  It's great!
  • Mommy's Favorites:  So he is his father's son and has about 20 different cowlicks.  They stay well disguised unless it's right after a bath and then poof!  Hair all over the place- it's adorable!

I had trouble with diapers leaking too. The only ones that worked for my boys were Huggies. Of course. The most expensive. I've never been able to use store brand. Kind of a bummer really. If you are having trouble, buy a bunch of small packages of different brands. If they all leak, go one size up. I found that when they even started leaking through the Huggies, it was because they needed to go up a size (even if their weight or girth still fit in the diaper size they were in). Good luck!
